The Disability Outreach Committee (DOC) is a 501 (c) (3) Non Profit Organization. Our mission is to support and encourage the disabled in our community by providing services to help them live independently and enhance the quality of their lives.

We believe that serving the disabled and treating them with respect, love and fairness not only enhances their sense of self worth, but strengthens their respect for the community in which they live.

We have found that many disabled people in the community feel “invisible.” They may live in the same low-income apartment buildings, or because of the lack of transportation, they are home bound. As a result, many of their needs go unfulfilled. The Disability Outreach Committee is committed to help people with disabilities become visible and achieve goals. We invite you to join us.

DOC BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT

The Disability Outreach Committee (DOC) is sponsoring a Back-to-School event for children with disabilities within in our community. DOC’s goal is to sponsor 200 local children with special needs

Families will be carefully screened and selected based on income level, home situations and any other circumstances that may apply.

The Disability Outreach Committee believes the Back-to-School program will benefit the special needs children in our community.

THE EDGE NEWS JOURNAL

DOC is proud to announce the return of The Edge News Journal. This free online Journal is designed to bring relevant news and information to the disabled community. Durng its' publication over a year ago it developed a wide and devoted readership.

The leadership of the Disability Outreach Committee (DOC) with help from Hydro-parts Outlet (A local hot tub supplier) will be enlisting a professional editor to work on the journal and ensure its' quality.

Our goal is to have the first publication ready in the next three months. DOC will be updating the public on our progress. To read back issues just click on The Edge tab at the top of the page. Thank you.
